Tuohta!   Birch bark!

Olen taas kerran lumoutunut tuohen väreistä!  Kortteja varten olen puhdistanut ja ohentanut tuohia ja leikannut suikaleita.  Välikerroksista löytyy mitä ihmeellisimpiä väreja.

Materiaalien tutkiminen taitaakin olla parasta tässä työssä. Tuohen ohentaminen, pajunkuoren irrottaminen rungosta, kaapeleiden aukaiseminen  -  ne on löytöretkiä, joille hakeutuu ja eksyy.

Once again I am so enchanted with the colours of birch bark!  I have been cleaning it and making it thinner / splitting and cutting strips. So called between layers, thin layers between outside and inside of bark, have most wonderful colours.

It seems to me that the best, at least one of the best parts of this work is to explore materials. When I split birch bark, take willow bark off the stem, open cables,  I am on a journey of exploration which I want to take and easily to get lost in .

Ja jotain niiden löytöretkien jälkeen syntyy. Nyt on tekeillä kortteja KOOTTU POP UP kauppaan Kuopioon 16.-19.5.  ja Kevätmessuille Iisalmeen 19.5. Samalla on mielessä myös kesämyynti Anelman Punojan Puodissa Kuopiossa.

And after those journeys  I get something ready, too.  At the moment I make cards for pop up shop KOOTTU in Kuopio and Spring Fair in Iisalmi.  I keep in my mind also Anelma's summershop in Kuopio (links above).
